Mendful is an app-in progress that will provide provide human-forward, AI-supported conflict resolution on demand. The Core Competencies Immersion training is currently necessary to certify to work in the app as a Mendful Conflict Resolution Coach (MCRC).

The Mendful training provides a rich, supportive, hands-on learning community in which we use powerful mind, body, spirit, and emotion tools to help you connect with and choose your own optimal inner state. From there, we help you bring that presence to the tools of resolving conflicts with others.

About Jill Nagle, lead trainer

     Jill Nagle brings an incredible wealth of body, mind, spirit and emotional intelligence to the Mendful training. 

​     She founded Evolutionary Workplace, a consultancy with a focus on dismantling white supremacy, and Wisdom of the Body: Beyond Talk Therapy which offered the possibility of non-sexual physical touch along with deeply attuned listening and empathy. Through that practice, she also created and ran a 9-month Immersion training in 2017-18 using many of the techniques now available through Mendful. She also used these techniques in the 22nd Century Leaders program (of Evolutionary Workplace), co-led with Cleo Manago, for white anti-racist leaders.

​     Her background includes Nonviolent Communication (NVC) based in the work of Marshall Rosenberg, Convergent Facilitation based in the work of Miki Kashtan, Somatic Abolitionism with Resmaa Menakem, Nonviolent Communication mediation, and SEEDS mediation. She also has studied neo-Reichian character structures through a 2-year program with Lynda Caesara.

​     She brings many of these streams together into the Mendful training to create an approach to conflict resolution that is, on the one hand, deep and connected, and on the other hand, practical and efficient.

​     Her work uses NVC as an important cornerstone of internal reference. Jill's "hippie" bio

     I've been going to the Bay Area's Ecstatic Dance (and other Conscious Dance events) for 30+ years. I have a deep relationship with nature, and get a lot of healing, solace, replenishment, and exercise there, these days, in the hills of Sonoma County.
     I climb trees. I cultivate dorkitude as a spiritual practice. I bake cookies as an offering to the Divine, who resides at least in part in my mouth and the mouths of those I love. I also have performed several times in the Bay Area in queer and Jewish realms.
     The experience in my life I (so far) hold most sacred is having given birth at home with no drugs, no doctors, and no machines. I figured, if every mammal on the face of the planet were considered fully capable of bringing forth life on her own, then surely so could I.

Via Zoom. People who are local to each other should gather in the same place to call in.

 

  • If you sign up with a local colleague only (to practice in person), you get an additional ½ off for that 2nd person (or 25% discount for each person)

INVESTMENT
 

  • We are subsidizing the cost of this first training with a (roughly) 60% discount from our regular in-person cohort to facilitate this first inaugural group to help launch the app in June

  • The tiers below reflect our commitment to make the training accessible to all who wish to attend and whose application is accepted

  • We want to remove finances as a barrier to anyone who is truly interested in the training.

    • In addition to these tiers, some full scholarships may be available.

    • A deposit that is affordable to you would still be requested.

  • Let us know if you need that when you apply (there's a section at the bottom to add anything you want us to know).  ​​

  • If none of the financial tiers applies to your situation, choose amounts for the investment and deposit that you can afford to give and that you would enjoy giving, even if that amount is $1. If that amount is $0, we will welcome you as heartily as anyone else. 

    • In those cases, we will apply the amount of your contribution toward the total of the investment + the deposit, subtract your contribution (if any), and record that as a loan against future earnings on the app that we’ll deduct in small amounts (10-20%) from your earnings on the app until the tuition loan is paid back. The deposit guidelines below still apply.

DEPOSIT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 

  1. The deposit is used to help fund the development of the app

  2. If the trainee gets certified and works on the app as a Mendful Conflict Resolution Coach, the deposit gets refunded in full once the Coach grosses twice the amount of their deposit

  3. If a trainee doesn’t work on the app, the deposit is not refunded. 

  4. If trainee doesn’t pass certification, they can:

    1. Retake training at reduced rate TBD, or

    2.  Practice on own, or work in Practicum Clinic –the Practicum Clinic will staff the app with uncertified trainees who will work at a reduced rate to get more experience, and also offer affordable help to people who can’t afford regular prices (analogous to a therapy clinic)

FORMAT

  • Three in-person retreats in Northern California, location TBD

  • Arrive on a Thursday (afternoon, preferably), train Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, then depart Monday after breakfast and brief closing

  • Heavy on practice, multiple teachings interspersed with embodied exercises and also opportunity for trainees to lead activities of their choosing

SCHEDULE FOR ALL THREE TRAININGS (all times Pacific)

​

  • Thursday 2pm to 6 pm arrival and informal activities, followed by dinner and welcome orientation

  • Friday and Saturday 9am to 5pm training

  • Saturdays 9am to 5pm training

  • Sunday 10 am to 4pm training

  • Mondays Brief closing after breakfast, departure​

Your investment includes three four-night residential trainings with lodging and organic meals (paleo and vegan options provided). Transportation is not included, but we’ll help coordinate rides from the airport and carpools.

Our intention is for the cost to feel like a meaningful stretch that honors the value of what’s offered, and not a painful hardship. Please feel into your body, your resources, and your heart, and choose the tier that best reflects your current season of life.

Working at the Office

Certification and employment with Mendful

Becoming a practitioner

We want to set you up for success! Therefore, we’ll certify you as eligible to apply to become a Level 1 Certified Mendful Conflict Resolution Coach eligible to work on the app once you’re ready. Readiness will be determined by agreement and evaluations of:

  • You

  • Your training cohort

  • Any clients outside the training cohort

  • Your trainers

When we all agree you’re ready, you will receive a Level 1 certification. If you don’t reach readiness the first year, we’ll work with you in continuing your path to readiness.

Please note:

  • Completing the Mendful CRC training is not a guarantee of receiving certification.

  • Completing the Mendful training is, however, the only way to work as a Mendful Conflict Resolution Coach. Again, we do want to set you up for success, and will do everything we can to prepare you to work as a Mendful CRC.

  • You can use the Mendful training for any other non-competing work outside of Mendful.
